Certificate in Irish Whiskey - Hybrid Online + In Person
Certificate in Irish Whiskey - Hybrid Online + In Person
The Certificate in Irish Whiskey aims to give candidates in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the different styles of Irish whiskey. Candidates will explore the history and business of Irish whiskey, before learning the whole of the production and maturation processes, including the different equipment used depending on the different mash bills adopted. Candidates will also learn about legal requirements and how to run a sensory analysis of Irish whiskey via tutored tasting.
This is a four session hybrid course, approximately 2.5 hours per session, with a 1-hour in-person examination at the end of the final session. Two online sessions will develop candidates’ historical and theoretical knowledge, while two in-person sessions will use sensory analysis of tasting samples to underpin production and maturation methods.
Successful candidates will receive a digital Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accredited certificate of completion and lapel pin.
Sessions begin in Summer 2025. Register your interest via a brief email to info@vawsa.com to be updated when dates are announced.
