This course offers a hands-on introduction to the world of gin. The course covers all aspects of gin including the history and styles of gin, the entire production process and use of botanicals, as well as tutored tasting of gin and the creation of gin cocktails. The course is well suited to those who are new to the beverage industry, as well as to enthusiasts looking to improve their category knowledge.

This is a two session hybrid course, approximately 3 hours per session, with a 1-hour in-person examination at the end of the final session. The first online session will develop candidates’ theoretical knowledge, while the second in-person session will use sensory analysis of tasting samples to underpin production methods and raw materials knowledge.

Successful candidates will receive a digital Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) Accredited certificate of completion and lapel pin.
